Fritz Stolberg & Kohhei Matsuda
COLONY Artist In Residence
& Closing performance, Friday 20th December from 7pm – late
The collaboration between Fritz Stolberg and Kohhei Matsuda was born from conversations about improvisation and the interplay of chance within the process of working with sound and moving image.
Using multiple 8mm filmprojectors and a variety of analogue devices to create sound their performance-installations build a spontaneous dialogue between sound and image that keeps transforming and re-inventing itself continuously over time. Each of these improvisations follow certain pre-fixed parameters while much of the physical material gets destroyed in the process resulting in the pieces being unique, unrepeatable experiences.
Fritz Stolberg is an artist/filmmaker working mainly with installation, performance, film and photography.
Kohhei Matsuda is a visual artist, composer and guitarist. Parallel to his works on paper and his musical compositionsand solo performances, he plays guitar with the band Bo Ningen.
